The Wisdom of Work is for anyone whose work involves other people and who wants a good line to think with: the team leader with a meeting at nine, the manager preparing a one-to-one, the person at a desk who wants something worth carrying through the day. It is free, it opens without an account, and it is the first place I suggest you visit on WorkSmart4Life.
Here you will find words from people who did the work, set beside what the research found, sorted by the moments a working life brings. The collection has seven groups: the four moves, Sharpen, Craft, Connect and Sustain, and three more for Leading, the Moments that change a career, and Why We Work. Each group opens into topics such as Focus, Shaping Your Job, Speaking Up, Coaching People, Rest & Recovery, Starting Somewhere New and Retirement, and each topic begins with a one-line definition.
Every item is either a quote, credited to the person who said it and where, or a research finding in plain language with its full reference. Each one carries a question for the team. You can show only quotes or only findings, copy any item, and follow a topic's Go deeper link to a course that takes the theme further.
Meeting view is the part made for teams. One click turns any quote or finding into a full-screen slide in large type, with its question underneath; put it on the screen and the meeting has its opener. A short film on the page shows it in use. To begin, choose the group that fits your week, or press Draw one for today and let the collection choose.
