How we look after your information.

WorkSmart4Life (“we”, “us”) provides The Wisdom of Work explorer and the WorkSmart Challenge (both free), personalised card decks and ebooks, editions and Company Editions, role tracks, moment packs and the Team Pack for organisations, and courses that run on the FlourishIQ platform. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. WorkSmart4Life is part of a family of wellbeing brands created by Dr Alten du Plessis (alongside FlourishIQ, FlourishTalk and InspireWell4Life), and is powered by FlourishIQ. FlourishTalk is the seller and processes card payments, so FlourishTalk is the name on your statement. We process personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, for visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR.

Your tool history and reflections in a course are yours. An organisation never sees an individual’s entries.
When you open The Edge, signed in with your FlourishIQ account, it reads which WorkSmart courses you are in and the dates on which you used their tools, and works out your points, level and streak. It never keeps what you write in a tool. It keeps your computed figures (points, level, streak and the weeks you were active), the invitations you send, the editions you earn and, for managers and team leaders, the ledger entries they record. If you hold Work Well Together, it also reads your nine-block and psychological-safety ratings, the block you chose and your keep, tweak or swap choice, to show you your cycle and to work out group averages; the words you type in those tools are shown back to you alone and are never kept.
If your organisation gave you course seats through the Organisation Plan, a moment pack or the Team Pack, your practice counts toward your team’s group figures: turnout by week, average level and average growth and, with Work Well Together, the team’s block, how many people are in each phase and the team’s average readings at the start and at Wrap. Group figures are shown only for groups of 8 or more people, and an organisation total is held back when a smaller team’s figures could be worked out from it. Your organisation never sees your name in a figure, your own points, level or streak, which tools you used, or anything you wrote. In The Edge you can choose to be left out of your team’s figures at any time. The full terms are in the organisation agreement.
We share only what is necessary, with trusted service providers who process data on our behalf:

Card payments are processed by PayFast for FlourishTalk, the name on your statement. We never see or store your card details.
When an organisation orders personalised copies or course seats for its people, we process each person’s name, and email where the organisation asks us to deliver directly, only to make and deliver their copy or seat. Download links expire after 30 days. For a Company Edition, we delete the list of names and the files once everyone has their copy. For the Organisation Plan, moment packs and the Team Pack, the list is kept with the order records, as the organisation agreement sets out.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including hashed passwords, time-limited download links and restricted access. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
We keep your information for as long as your account or order is active, and after that only as long as needed for legitimate business, legal or tax purposes.
In The Edge, computed figures are deleted automatically once a person has not been seen in The Edge or in a team figure for 12 months; invitations and ledger entries after 12 months; organisation report links 30 days after they expire. The editions you earn are kept with our order records.
You may see your own figures in The Edge at any time. You may ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to certain processing. Email support@flourishtalk.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time.
We use a login or download session and, where relevant, store an affiliate referral code in your browser for up to 30 days. These are needed for the site to work and to credit referrals correctly; we do not use them for advertising.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows the current version.
