From the founder: Value Well — The Complete Values Toolkit

A course under Craft, one of the four moves. An introduction by Dr Alten du Plessis, founder of WorkSmart4Life.

This course is for anyone at work who wants a lived understanding of their values rather than a list of words: someone weighing a career decision, a leader setting priorities, a colleague learning to say no with a clear conscience.

Values are different from goals. You can reach a goal, but a value is a direction you keep choosing, moment to moment. When you know your values well, choices at work become clearer: what to take on, what to decline, and how to act when things are hard. The course helps you find your values and then bring them into what you actually do each day.

The toolkit approaches values in several ways. Some tools use play and creativity, such as Value Cards and the Values Vision Board. Some use structure, such as Prioritizing Personal Values and The Values Diagrams, which compare how you spend your time with how you wish to. Some ask you to face the end of a life, such as Self-Eulogy. Others turn values into action: Values-Based Goal Setting, Choice Point and Learning to Say "No". A second module offers guided programmes that lead you through the toolkit, including a Team Values Program that moves from individual values to a shared team identity.

On WorkSmart4Life this course sits under Craft, because knowing what matters to you is the compass for shaping your work. It shares Finding Your Ikigai with the Meaning block of Work Well Together, so if your team chose Meaning there, this course takes that block further.

I recommend beginning with the Quick Values Check-In among the guided programmes. A free 24-hour trial lets you explore the whole course first.
