Practice Well — for Doctors is for doctors in their intern years and the years after them who want to look after their own flourishing as well as their patients'. It is a two-year programme, modular and never locked to a week, so you can work it around shifts and call.
It begins where the evidence on positive health begins: health is more than the absence of illness, and that applies to doctors too. The course is built on six elements of physician flourishing, namely positive relationships, engagement, vitality, accomplishment, meaning and positive emotions. These are skills and practices for your own wellbeing, not clinical guidance.
The People I Go Home To, The People I Work Beside and The Relationship With Myself take relationships in turn: at home, with one colleague through Building High Quality Connections, and with yourself through self-compassion. Sleep, Shifts and Call offers the Night Workers' Sleep Plan for people whose hours are not their own. Flow in Clinical Work and Sacred Moments in Clinical Work look at absorption and meaning in ordinary encounters, in a psychological sense. You take the course's instruments at the start, the mid-point and the end, and the final module turns the tools you will keep into your own plan with My Health Plan.
On WorkSmart4Life this course sits under Sustain, the move about energy and recovery. If your team chose Physical Health and Vitality in Work Well Together, Rest & Recovery Wheel and Energy Management Audit appear in both courses. I suggest you begin with Where I Stand Now and My Wheel of Health and Wellbeing; a free 24-hour trial of the whole course is also available.
